Allianz Multinational

Global insurance program solutions for global risk exposures – backed by our market leading network

Effective management of global risks is our core business. Our Allianz Multinational team provides a fully customized service responding to the cross-border exposures of our clients, while also taking into account the regulatory and fiscal framework in which you operate.

At the forefront of our proposition we offer centrally coordinated global insurance programs which deliver locally admitted policies to match clients' own geographic footprint and their specific risk and exposure requirements – all in full compliance with relevant insurance regulations and local laws.

Every program client benefits from a dedicated team of specialist underwriters, program handlers, claims experts and risk engineers from across Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS). All are there to build the optimal program structure, to anticipate issues before they arise and to coordinate seamless service delivery.

As a leading provider of global insurance solutions for corporate clients across a diversity of trade sectors, we currently manage over 2,800 programs worldwide.

Our network and global infrastructure is second-to-none – this means we can handle the complex challenges of local regulatory demands wherever you operate, offering international insurance coverage in over 200 countries and territories across a spectrum of business lines.

Our flexible approach recognizes that no one solution can fit every challenge. Our program options range from stand-alone local policy provision (with the potential of overarching Difference in Conditions [DIC] and Difference in Limits [DIL] protection centrally) through to a globally coordinated solution which combines a centrally issued “Master Policy” with admitted locally policies in all program countries – all backed by AGCS's strategic service partner network. For selected European territories, we can also utilize the "Freedom of Services" legislation for selected lines of business to simplify and streamline program processing.

Allianz Multinational offers clients the breadth of our product range coupled with a commitment to deliver a solution that is right for you. The following represent a range of design options which can be deployed depending on client circumstances:
  • Standalone local policies
  • DIC/DIL above local policies
  • Single European policy (FOS)
  • Centrally controlled master program
  • These may be suitable in circumstances where clients have adopted a lower level of financial integration or a less centralized regime of risk assessment & management:
  • Locally admitted policies issued by Allianz offices or our strategic service partners
  • Handling requirements for taxes, levies and fees agreed locally
  • No reinsurance "pooling" applicable

  • Locally admitted policies negotiated at an individual territory level can be further supplemented by the provision of incidental Difference in Conditions / Difference in Limits extensions - these offer coverage over and above the established local policy limits.
  • Specialist Allianz teams managing a worldwide network spanning more than 200 locations
  • Through application of a Freedom of Service (FOS) license, we are able to offer insurance coverage within the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA):
  • The ability to provide admitted cover for 28 EU and 3 EEA countries
  • Compliance with country specific tax and compulsory insurance rules
  • Full adherence to local tax legislation, with central co-ordination of insurance premium tax (IPT) transfer
  • This represents the highest level of tailored program solutions. Master and local covers are fully integrated and aligned – and specific regulatory and legal requirements are all considered as part of the central program design.
For clients operating wholly or partially through a captive, Allianz also offers a wide range of captive fronting services  which can be tailored to specific requirements.
Taking a global program from concept to reality may seem like a complex process. In practice, however, AGCS adopts a four-stage approach when creating tailored insurance programs for our clients. Each stage involves different actions and milestones which ensure you receive the best solution for your unique profile and requirements:
1. Planning

Here, we'll map your exposure by:

  • collecting comprehensive information about your business
  • assessing your specific requirements
  • reviewing applicable program countries, including the legal and regulatory landscape
  • establishing a multi-functional AGCS client team for your business
2. Design

We'll then create the building blocks of your program, including:

  • agreeing global program parameters
  • defining claims and risk consulting service protocols
  • addressing any legal policy requirements
  • scheduling a risk survey program
  • drafting a service level agreement (SLA)
  • issuing a formal quote (including a premium allocation proposal)
  • agreeing a binding order
3. Deployment

After your program has been designed, we'll harness our central and local resources to roll it out effectively. This will involve:

  • loading key data into Allianz's Global Program System
  • agreeing local policy parameters in full alignment with your key contacts and those of your broker
  • agreeing with you and your broker a clear process for policy delivery and premium collection
  • processing facultative reinsurance for local policies pooled into the program (optional)
  • issuing the master policy and related premium invoice
  • issuing local policies and invoices
  • triggering our risk consulting, fronting, and claims services according to the protocols agreed
4. Monitoring

After rolling out your program, we'll offer regular, “hands-on” follow up which (depending on your program) can include:

  • progress and performance reports, measured against SLAs
  • periodic key stakeholder meetings (including reviews of outstanding actions)
  • ongoing monitoring of your risk survey and mitigation program
  • implementation of mid-term adjustments where required
  •  measurement of claims services against agreed protocols
  • a customer feedback process, using Net Promoter® Score (NPS) methodology
