- Vertical sales approach: New AGCS function of Global Industry Solution Director to build expertise and bespoke solutions for industry sectors
- AGCS is targeting new business opportunities in the Construction sector
Since May 1 2022, Blanca Berruguete took over the role Global Industry Solution Director for Construction at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS). She joins AGCS from Zurich Insurance, and will be based in Madrid, reporting to Global Head of Distribution Jeremy Sharpe. She becomes the third Global Industry Solution Director joining Paul Schiavone, Global Industry Solution Director for Financial Services, and Jody Yee, Global Industry Solutions Director for Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT).
The Global Industry Solutions Director role is a key part of the 'New AGCS' strategy and its pillar ‘right markets and segments’. The function creates an industry-led sales model for AGCS, with the Global Industry Solutions Directors as single points of contact to drive solutions across all Lines of Business and other Allianz entities. The Director works closely with underwriting and key account management to build industry-specific expertise as well as best practice among the regions and sister Allianz entities, with the goal of finding the best possible solutions for customers within the Allianz universe.
The Construction sector is a fast-paced, project-driven industry that becomes increasingly challenging to manage in light of the newly emerging risks and market volatilities. AGCS is here to help with comprehensive industry solutions particularly targeting building and civil engineering, infrastructure contractors, green energy contractors, heavy and light industry contractors.
Most recently Blanca Berruguete was Construction Line Manager and Global Relationship Leader in the Commercial Lines division of Zurich Insurance Ltd. in Spain, where she focused on construction business and leading the team of underwriters for Corporate & Mid-Market clients and brokers. Berruguete brings more than 20 years of insurance experience and has had several leadership roles in broking and underwriting both in London and Madrid. Prior to joining AGCS, she worked for Generali, Lloyd´s of London, AIG and Zurich.
